As we are rearing the end of the semester, it feel like all kinds of work and stress are piling on top of us. So how do we manage this? This is an important concept to understand, because if we do not start managing our stress now, it could cause health problems in the future.
One of the best ways to manage stress is one that we should be doing everyday anyway, and that is physical activity. There is all kinds of researching backing this up. Physical activity is one of the best ways to cope with your stress. You can take about 10 minutes out of your studying to drop what you are doing and get some type of physical activity in to release your stress.
Another great way I believe to release stress may sound like a silly one, but it is dancing or singing it out. This is a form my roommates and I use a lot. Probably once a night, we all try to stop what we are doing and take about 10-15 minutes to blast music, and just sing, dance, laugh, and let go of everything for that short little time. Dancing it out helps us forget everything we have been worrying about that day, and allows us to have a few laughs while doing it. I highly suggest you try this method with your roommates or friends, you'd be surprised how good it actually makes you feel!
The last thing I would suggest as a stress management skill would be surrounding yourself around friends and people who love you, and can make you laugh and feel better. If it weren't for my roommates, I do not know what I would do, they are the best listeners, and friends I could ask for! We always support each other through every stressful moment we have, no matter how silly our problem is! I think this is another good way to deal with your stress, and it may be the simplest one! Thanks for reading and try not to get too stressed out! We are almost done with the semester, you can do it!

ReplyDeleteWe ALL know how stressful the end of the semester can get and how important it is to manage stress in a way that you can control yourself. I love how you really advocate for Physical Activity as one of the best ways to relieve stress. I feel the best after I run, workout or play volleyball. I really don't know what i'd do without it! Also, I love how you mention dancing! We all know how much we love our dance fundamentals class and how much stress it relieves when we are dancing to the Whip and Nae Nae! :) Thank you for your awesome post. You're the best!
I absolutely agree that releasing stress in important. Running really helps me reduce my stress, it gives me a little break from life to clear my head and just focus on running. I do the same thing with jamming to music as well and dancing around my apartment, sometimes you really just need a break from reality to realize that everything's going to be okay, you just have to take it one step at a time and breathe!
